7 people running not including Morrissey. What's next for our city? Has anyone heard about the candidate Joe Wilson?

I would love to see Victory Bell run for Mayor of Rockford, its not that I don't think the current mayor is doing a good job. I would love to see someone that will give our current Mayor competition

I think Victory would be give Morrissey some competition but the word out right now is that he is retiring this year as counselman so I dont think that he wouldve even considered it...

we have old buildings that need to be taken down, streets and allies that were supposed to be repaired years ago but still not done...west side was on a cleanup bill 3 years ago but nothing done.
he's wanting to eliminate the down town mall which nobody uses, redo the parking ramps and sell others,
crap that doesn't pertain to the community and the people within........think of the people first, not where they will park.....dahhhhh

Hello Rockford.....I hope our mayor does NOT run again. We need someone new in our City leadership and not an alderman/woman. Too many local politicians have been adding their input for too long and we, the people are not getting all that is deserved, even with the slow economy. Heck, if I had a little money and was younger, I'd consider running. I almost made it in a smaller Florida community.....as a total unknown.
New, Young and up-to-date economics has to be the main strengths of our next mayor. then we have to do the same with our governor....who should have been Lisa Madigan, but, she won't run.
You might agree or you might disagree. that is fine. I am all ears when it comes to listening to "your" ideas. Thank You for listening/reading mine.

Hey Woody....great comments. Your right on the mark. Downtown is dead because everyone wants some big multi-million deal to happen. Heck, how about making so a bunch of "the little guys" to open a business and make downtown something other than a law office complex and the city and county law agencys. Food, other than Sub-Way or McDonald's; Clothing other than resale shops; Barber shops; beauty shops; major drug stores; a movie complex....perhaps i-max style. That would make Rockford downtown (and business East-side such as 7th St.) a reality. Save-A-Lot left Charles & 6th St. and they want people to live in the area. Elderly hi-rises and such. Give them a reason. Richard Johnson
